City of Miramichi seeks developers for commercial development on Multiplex property

As the construction of the Miramichi Wellness Multiplex advances, the City of Miramichi has issued an Expression of Interest for the development of prime commercial properties.
A 9.5 acre section of the Multiplex property will be used to create a commercial development that will benefit residents of the City and the Greater Miramichi region, as well as visitors to the area.
Through the Expression of Interest, the Department of Economic Development and Tourism wants to identify experienced and qualified developers, investors, and property development firms that are interested in the opportunity to participate in the development of the prime commercial properties.
“We are very excited to officially begin the development process of this site,” said Mayor Adam Lordon. “This is a transformational time of growth and opportunity for our City and this regional commercial area around the multiplex provides prime opportunities for developers and will attract new and exciting options for the citizens, including possibly a hotel, new retailers, restaurants, and more here.”
Those interested can obtain the Expression of Interest documents from Paul McGraw, Economic Development Officer with the City’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

The deadline to submit the Expression of Interest is December 18th, 2024. More information can be found here.

The construction of the Miramichi Wellness Multiplex is underway off Douglastown Boulevard. The facility will offer an 1860 seat arena, walking track, double gymnasium, 25m/6 lane competition pool, leisure pool as well as enhanced community spaces - all of which incorporate sustainable design features.
This exciting project, expected to open in the fall of 2026, is now progressing through procurement and early construction stages. Stay tuned as we continue to share updates on this development that is sure to benefit the community and create a vibrant hub for all to enjoy.
