Loggieville Softball Field – Highfield Street
One competitive lighted softball field with clubhouse facility.

Ironmen Ball Park- John Street
Regulation baseball park with lights, press box. Bleachers, dugouts, fencing and grass fields used by Chatham Ironmen Senior Ball Team. The National Senior Baseball Championship was held at this Ball Park in the summer, 1999.

Willie Jardine Ballfield- John Street
Located adjacent to the Ironmen Ball Park, this minor baseball park is fenced with dugouts and limestone infield.

James M. Hill Ballfield- Henderson Street
Regulation softball field with lights and fencing.

Golden Hawk Ballfields- Pollard Blvd.
Located in Chatham at former CFB Chatham base.

Merlin J. Doyle Ballfield- Merlin Street
MCRD provides full maintenance for this minor softball park.

Gerald King Ballfield- Rasche Street
This regulation softball park with lights, press box, bleachers, dugouts and fencing is largely used by the Nelson Softball Association and Minor Baseball Association.

Rodney Lanteigne Field, Chatham Head Field and Recreation Centre- MacFarlane Street
Located in the old Chatham Head community just off the south end of the Morrissey Bridge this facility provides a fenced but unlighted ballfield, playground and recreation building that is administered and fully paid for by local community volunteers.

Memorial Ballfield – Campbell Street and Little League Ballfield – Station Street
Centrally located in the old Town of Newcastle this City property provides the Memorial Ballfield for children up to midget level and the Little League ballfield. In addition, a metal storage shed owned by the MCRD is located on this property and used for equipment storage during the winter.

Cardinal Ballfield – Beaverbrook Rd
Located on Beaverbrook Road this is a junior and senior competitive ballfield, fully lighted, fenced and with club house.

Miramichi Valley Field – McKenna Ave.
Located on Miramichi Valley High School property.

Heath Steele Ballfield – Old King George Hwy
A ballfield on property owned by Heath Steele adjacent to French Fort Cove used predominantly for women’s ball. Proposed site for River Eco Tourism and Culture Centre (Curling Club).

Gretna Green Minor Ball Parks – Kirkpatrick Street
Located adjacent to Gretna Green School on City owned land in Douglastown there are two fenced ballfields each with dugouts, backstops and bleachers.

Waldon Henderson Field – Bridge Street

Tracks

James M. Hill High School

Constructed in the mid 1980’s by the Town of Chatham on school property. Six lane track with limited field facilities. Refurbished in 2010.

Memorial Field
Constructed by the Town of Newcastle around the perimeter of the Memorial Ball-field this track is used by Harkin’s schools. This limestone track was refurbished in 2010. A great place to walk when there is no baseball being played on the field.

Courts


The City of Miramichi is proud of the refurbishment of the tennis courts in our community and hope that everyone will get out and enjoy them. The tennis courts are located in the following areas:

Golden Hawk Tennis/Pickle Ball Court
Located at 8 Pollard Blvd.
Double tennis court, with asphalt surface, fenced and an installed wind screen

Tennis Court Regulations:

  • Tennis courts are used on a first-come-first-serve basis.

  • Special event bookings must be done at least 2 week prior and must list all requirements of the event. There is a $100.00 fee for all special events.

  • All booking requests can be completed by contacting the Recreation Office at 623-2300.

  • All users are asked to conduct themselves in an acceptable manner in their use of the tennis courts.

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages will not be tolerated.

  • The operating season (weather pending) will be from the Victoria Day weekend through to the Labor Day Weekend.

  • Remember…NO DOGS permitted inside the courts!
