Mayor presents State of the City address

Mayor Adam Lordon presented his first State of the City address at a sold out event put on by the Greater Miramichi Chamber of Commerce.

The mayor covered a variety of subjects and issues in his presentation including population growth, workforce development, housing, homelessness, city development, finances, municipal reform, city infrastructure, downtown renewal and more.

Many attendees got a first look at the designs of the Miramichi Wellness Multiplex project, the fundraising campaign and how the project will be financed.

Lordon said it is his hope the State of the City event will continue on an annual basis to allow the community to hear about the city’s ongoing work and future projects.
