The City of Miramichi Fire Department (MFD) is a composite department providing fire and rescue services, fire prevention services to the City of Miramichi and surrounding area.

Fire Prevention Services 

Services provided to our community include;

• Fire and Life Safety inspections, fire prevention and public outreach safety education

• Enforcement of the provincially adopted Fire and Building codes, Fire Prevention Act, municipal by-laws, and fire control activities

Firefighter Training

Members of the department train regularly in the following;

• Structural  Firefighting

• Cold Water Rescue

• Vehicle Extrication
