NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - CITY OF MIRAMICHI
The City of Miramichi intends to consider amendments to its Municipal Plan, being By-Law No. 109 entitled “City of Miramichi Municipal Plan By-Law” and By-Law No. 110 being the “City of Miramichi Zoning By-Law”.
The purpose of the proposed amendment is to permit a change in land use designation from “Low Density Residential (R-2)” and “Highway Commercial (HC)” to “Institutional (IN)” for the Subject Property described as PID’s 40178824 and 40178816 located at 273 King George Hwy, Miramichi.
The proposed amendment is required to enable the redevelopment of the house and garage on the properties, into an adult housing shelter, and emergency/drop-in shelter.
Interested parties may inspect the proposed by-law online at the City’s website www.miramichi.org by searching “Proposed By-Laws”, or by appointment (24-hour notice) at the City Hall during regular operating hours.
Objections to the proposed by-laws, which are presented in writing, shall be considered at a public hearing to be held at the Beaverbrook Kin Centre, 100 Newcastle Boulevard, on February 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to support or oppose those objections may do so at that time and place. If objections were previously submitted to the Greater Miramichi Service Commission or PRAC you must re-submit a letter of objection to the City Clerk prior to the meeting.
