Boil order lifted for Newcastle Water System: High Side

The boil order has been lifted as of 2 p.m. April 17, 2024 in the Newcastle Water System for the areas north of railway tracks, Old King George Highway and King George Highway from civic #731 to 887.
The system was sampled, and test results are clear. Following consultation with the Department of Health, the boil order has been lifted.
Department of Health wants to advise residents that discolouration of the water does not mean it is not safe, although it may not be aesthetically pleasing.
It is possible to experience dirty water in the system until the uni-directional flushing is carried out.
The uni-directional flushing will begin Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 8 a.m.
Additional information will be distributed on Thursday April 18, 2024 for the uni-directional flushing program.
